Annual Return Filing

Every company registered with SSM must file an Annual Return each year. We prepare and lodge it on your behalf, before your deadline — no penalties, no stress.

What Is It?

Under the Companies Act 2016, every company registered with SSM — Sdn Bhd or otherwise — must lodge an Annual Return confirming its registered details (directors, shareholders, registered address, share capital) are up to date. This is for companies already registered with SSM; if you haven't incorporated yet, see Sdn Bhd Registration instead.

Annual Return Filing Filed on time, every year

Why You Need It

  • It's a legal requirement — missing the deadline can result in penalties from SSM.
  • Keeps your company in good standing — lenders, investors, and partners can check this status.
  • Persistent non-compliance can put your company at risk of being struck off the register by SSM.

What We'll Need From You

Your current company and director details through our online form, so we can confirm what's changed (if anything) since your last filing and prepare the return accordingly. If any of your director, shareholder, or address details have changed since incorporation, let us know in the form or afterward — significant changes may need our Change of Director/Shareholder service filed alongside or beforehand.

Frequently Asked Questions

Your Annual Return deadline is tied to your company's incorporation anniversary, not the calendar year. If you're unsure of your exact deadline, contact us with your company name and we'll help you check.

SSM can impose penalties for late filing, and repeated non-compliance can eventually put your company at risk of being struck off the register. It's best to file as soon as possible if you've missed a deadline — reach out and we'll help you get compliant.

Annual Return filing is one of the core duties a licensed company secretary handles for you. If Corplify is already your company secretary, this is part of what we manage — this page is for one-off filing if you need it handled independently.

Yes. The Annual Return is a statutory filing obligation regardless of whether your company traded during the year — it's separate from tax filing, which is handled through our Audit & Tax service.
